You may not be aware of just how important your tires are to the safety of your vehicle, but proper tire care is a vital part of vehicle maintenance. If you don't routinely inspect and service your tires you could be putting yourself and others in harms way. When it comes to tire care you should be following these tips:

  • Check the tire pressure. Under and overinflated tires can cause serious danger if not fixed in a timely manner. Check the pressure when tires are cold or at least three hours after being driven. The recommended PSI can be found on your door jamb.
  • Check the tread depth. You need a good amount of tread on your tires in order for them to efficiently grip the road. You can check the tread by taking a penny, with Lincoln's head pointing down, and placing it in the grooves of the tire. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head it's time for new tires.
  • Don't put too much weight on your car. This places stress on your tires which can lead to tire failure.

If it's time to replace your tires or if you just need them inspected by a professional, schedule an appointment with us today.
