We're seeing this tech pop up in almost every brand, and the reason for its popularity is obvious. If a jay-walker cuts out in front of your car just as that espresso goes down the wrong pipe, you'd be too busy hacking to notice them. This could end in disaster, or it could end with your car stopping for you, saving the day.
Fortunately, Toyota is jumping on the safety bandwagon. By the end of 2017, they plan to make "Toyota Safety Sense" available on all (or nearly all) models and trim levels.
Soon, you won't have to spend a fortune to get a car with premium safety features. When you're not spending like a Rockefeller on your transportation, you have more to spend on your destinations.
